How to make my hair smell good after straightening it?

Asked by: Cotton Candy Tickles 386 views Hair

I straighten my hair every day and I always spray it with hairspray when I’m done. But I only do that because I don’t want my hair to smell like fire. Every time I straighten it and it falls in my face, it smells like burnt hair. I hate that smell and it makes me really self-conscious. When I’m close to people, that’s all I can think about– does my hair smell bad? What can I do after straightening my hair to make it smell nice? I don’t want to constantly have to use hairspray every time– does anyone have any ideas or advice? Thanks!(:

Well you should be using a heat protector spray or cream on your hair. Also you may need to clean your iron because it sounds like your iron may have build up on it. These things should help make your hair not smell. Also play with the settings – you may have you iron on too high you may not need that much heat on your hair to straighten it. Also you may want to try some different style that gives your hair a break from all the heat on it. Dry shampoo is supposed to help with hair odors but I think you may want to try the things I suggest first before you use dry shampoo in your hair.

Ok, you’re first problem is straightening your hair everyday! Now, I dont know high you put your irons, but there was an episode of dr.oz where they had a flat iron on 350 I believe, and they put an egg on it and it immediately cooked. Please don’t straighten your hair everyday it damages your hair and takes the moisture out of it. If your straighten it really good, you can get a couple of days out of it like I do. Then your hair won’t be smelling like its on fire. Mine always does that whenever I first straighten it haha.

You need to think about what’s causing that smell. Either your hair is dead, or your straightener isn’t very good. Either way one of my favourite tricks is after straightening if, run through it with some nice smelling hair oil (which will also help it with the dryness) such as morrocan oil.

You need to get a better straightener, because my hair doesn’t smell burnt after I straighten it. You also need to make sure you’re using a good heat protectant. And also, make sure your hair is completely dry before straightening it. Don’t do it while it’s damp or almost dry.

after straightening the hair apply the treatment cream before wash and used the cream and bath once in a two day .it makes the hair soft, smooth and smells very nice after bath.

You can use dry shampoo afterwards.Or: you need to turn down the straightner heat, because it’s obviously burning (and damaging) your hair

Use Biosilk. It makes your hair smell good and feels smoother after using it.
