If I stop using the relaxer, will my hair begin to grow faster and longer?

Asked by: Cicely 261 views Hair ,

In high school I used to have hair past my shoulders (relaxed) but I decided to get experimental so I began dying it and cutting short. Now its hard to get it to the original length I it was before. I don’t want to go "all natural" but If I grew my hair out naturally for a long time w/o straightening it (like about a year) and straighten my new growth, would it be long again? Right now my hair is right at shoulder length.

maybe. but remember while you are stretching your relaxer to keep your hair moisturized and seal it will an oil. hairlista.com is a good website to go on for tips on strectching

no, it will grow at the same rate. and stretching a relaxer for a long time isn’t good, the demarcation line where the relaxed and natural hair meets will be weak and fragile. it’s best to get a relaxer every couple months to keep hair the same texture.
