If I want to pierce my ears at Claire's or a tattoo/piercing shop do I NEED my parents?

Can I take someone who is 18 or older like a friend or sibling or do I HAVE to take my parents. I live in CA and I’m 16

One, do not pierce your ears at Claire’s, go to a tattoo shop. The gun they use cannot be sterilized. If the person before you has a blood borne disease then you will end up with it as well. Anyways, you do need your parents, and they need to be able to PROVE they are your parents.

No you don’t, but I garuntee you cannot hide your piercing from your parents, you will need help changing the stud during the first few weeks and because changing the stud while its raw can make it red, your parents will definitely see.

I’m fairly certain you need your parent/legal guardian because they have to sign a consent form in case something goes wrong.

Yes, you have to take your parents with you for piercing. You can’t take anyone who is only 18 year old.
