Then ask his mother. If she paid for it, chances are she’s the beneficiary. As for other policies…1. Ask at work if he had a job.2. Check bank statements to see if he was paying any premiums.3. Check credit cards too.4. Check the past 4 years. Some wholelife policies pay the premiums from cash value.5. For $75, you can pay a service to check the life insurance application database to see if he applied for a policy, though even if he did, there may not be a policy.6. For cost of time and stamps, you can write the top 20 insurance companies and ask them if they have a policy under his name.7. Go through every document in your house. My dad had a paid-up policy from the 1960s that he’d forgotten about. Not much, though.

Unless you were named beneficiary – highly unlikely, if someone else actually was paying for it – you have no right to know if he has a policy. It’s private information, protected by the privacy laws. If a check shows up in your mailbox, he had one, and someone filed a claim.Alternative: You can always CALL your former mother in law and ask. Most mothers LOVE having ex’s call them when their sons die, demanding money.

How would we know? We weren’t married to him or have him as an ex.Even if he did – what business is it of yours – being an ex?If his mother paid for it – then she should know. Call her and ask.If his mother paid for it – then likely she is the beneficiary. So there would be no benefit to you.

You’re asking strangers if your ex had an insurance policy? ..How would any of us know? Do you mean, "If he had a policy, would I be a beneficiary?" It sounds to me like his mother, or the insurance company are the only ones that can answer that for you. Maybe Yahoo will give them the 5 points! :)

If he passed away, he does not have anything in this world, this is because sadly.. he is no more.

His mom MIGHT have had an insurance policy on him.If she paid the premiums, she was the beneficiary – not you.

Contact MIB. They are the only company to know.
