My hair is curly-frizzy-relatively-diabolical. Best way to get shiny, smooth salon-straight hair at home…?

So, I have hair that hates me. I’m Mulatto which means I’m half white and half black. My hair is long, super curly and THICK which is cute sometimes, but makes me look really young. I want to look more sophisticated. Once I went to this really high-end salon and this lovely gay guy worked magic and made my hair shiny, smooth, healthy-looking and salon-straight and he only used a hair dryer (figures). Anyways, I’m strapped for cash and can’t afford to fork over $150 a week on my hair. I’ve tried to reproduce the effect putting all kinds of oils and heat treatment but all I end up with is hair that looks okay for the first day but soon looks unhealthy and straw-like and FRIZZY! (Damn frizz.) I’ve looked at youtube videos but mostly girls who say their hair is really curly have hair that is 1/2 as curly as mine and 1/2 as thick making it much easier for them to straighten. I would like my hair to look like Megan Markle’s when she plays Rachel Zane on Suits (or something like that), but I dont want to relax my hair because it makes it break and fall out (trust me, I had a small bald spot when I was 12 because I was desperate for straight hair). Does anyone have any tips and tricks for seriously curly hair?

    1. Shampoo and Condition your hair at night.2. Towel dry your hair. 3. Grab a 1/2 inch section of hair from the front, top of the left side of your head. 4. Gently wrap this section towards the right side of your head and pin it.5. Repeat with your entire head of hair.6. Go to bed.7. When you wake up in the morning, if your hair doesn’t feel dry, blow dry it a little. (This won’t require enough heat to damage your hair.)8. Release the pins and enjoy your straight, silky hair.**If you want to do this in the morning, you will have to blow dry your hair. While this will require heat and slightly damage your hair, you won’t have to do much work to straighten your hair (after wrapping it), just hold a blow-dryer by your head**I copied and pasted this.
