Transitioning from relaxed hair to natural?

Asked by: Jolly Bee 404 views Hair ,

So bascially i have been transitioning from my relaxed hair to natural without doing the big chop for about 5 months now, maybe a little less. So exactly 2 months ago i put on some box braids and now i really want to take them off because they are messy and some are starting to come off. But the thing is that i don’t want to get them re done until school starts, which is in approximately 3 weeks. But at the same time i don’t want to leave my hair out because i can’t deal with managing with my natural curly hair and them my straight relaxed hair… And i feel as if my hair is not long enough to cut the relaxed ends off. So please tell me what i should do?

Three months is pushing how long I like to keep my braids and twists in. Usually I do two months anyway. Just take them down and give your hair a break for awhile. Constantly getting braid/twist extensions isn’t a good thing. You could try some methods of styling to hide the two different textures. -Straighten your hair so the roots match your relaxed ends. Make sure to use a heat protectant to reduce damage.-Braid outs, twist outs, and bantu knot outs create a wavy look that will help to disguise the natural and relaxed hair. And you can style the hair in a variety of different ways afterwards.- You can go for the more curly look by doing a flexi rod set, a straw set, a roller set. Personally I use flexi rods when I’m stretching my relaxer and depending on the product I use and how small they can last for three days.Search Youtube for these styling methods and more!Hope this helped! c:
