But modeling is a hard industry to get into. But every company that needs models looks for something slightly different, and there is a chance to get into it as long as you are close to certain requirements. The "ideal" measurements are 34-24-34. If you’re at least 5’5 or so, you’ll have a better chance to get into commercial or print modeling. If you’re taller like 5’10, it’s possible to get into glamour, high fashion, and runway modeling. Learn your body type and the best photos to take which will flatter your image. Before even thinking about applying to agencies, I would suggest starting a portfolio based on the types of modeling you’d like to do (take photos companies want, not dumb ones like most of these girls), and practice your poses. This will give you a chance to learn what types of photos and poses you look best in. Since it’s very hard to get into a good agency, any thing to improve your chances will be great. Plus if you have a portfolio, you can deal directly with companies you want to model for! I’ve modeled mostly in texas and LA, and sometimes even pretty girls get overlooked because they take the wrong types of pics. So learn your body type and the kinds of things you can do to flatter your look, so you have a competitive edge with agencies. When you’re comfortable enough with yourself and your portfolio, start looking for agencies that specialize in the type(s) of modeling you’d like to do. Some good agencies are LA Models, Ford, Entourage, Wilhelmina, etc. Once you get started modeling, the money is pretty good depending on how many jobs you get. It’s really fun (at least i enjoy it!) It’s a good side job to have in hs or college because they work around your schedule. But like i said, the most difficult part is actually getting into the industry. Once you’re in, it gets easier! If you have any modeling questions or need help with your portfolio, feel free to email me on here and I’ll do my best to help. I remember how hard it was when I first started! Good luck :)
