Does baby oil help hair growth?

Asked by: Gummy Bear Hearts 456 views Hair ,

Years ago I had very long hair but then I cut it into layers which is hard to grow. I hate my layers. From the back my hair is short and from the from its long. It irritates me how ugly it looks so I put my hair always to the back instead of the from where it lays half way my back. It’s hard to grow hair. My parents say it’ll never grow back. They don’t believe my hair long. My mom says yes at times because when she was much younger her hair was cut a certain way and it grew back fast. My mum told me when I was little she applied baby oil to my hair because it didn’t have harsh chemicals and my hair grew fast. Does Baby oil really grow hair fast?

No, it protects the hair. Use coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, vitamin e oil, etc. use one of those oils or put one or two oils into a homemade hair mask and massage the scalp very well. Then wash out with shampoo and conditioner. :)

What baby oil does is coat the shaft and protect the hair from damage from over-washing and blow dryer damage, like split ends and breakage. However, the natural oils from your skin will do a better job, why women used to brush their hair 100 strokes each day, to help spread the natural oils along the hair.

no. use coconut oil instead (wash it out after you put it on for an hour or two). and drink plenty of water, eat healthy, exercise, stay away from heat & dye, and get trims every 2-3 months. good luck!
