Heat damages hairThe heat from the blow dryer can remove too much moisture from the hair, causing it to become dry and brittle. In addition, it can also damage the cuticles. These are the outermost layers of hair strands formed by proteins held together by a glue-like substance. Their function is to protect the hair from damage. But the heat can degrade this “glue”, making the cuticles become weak. As a result, your hair is not only dull, but also prone to be damaged when you comb or brush it.Blow-drying tipsThis doesn’t mean that you have to avoid blow-drying, but doing it every day may not be a good idea. And, if you have to use a blow dryer, keep these tips in mind:- before blow-drying, blot water out of your hair with a towel- keep the temperature low- don’t hold the blow dryer too close to your head. Keep it at least six inches away- move the blow dryer constantly around your head and lift the outer hair strands while doing so. This will prevent them from excessive dryness.- don’t use a blow dryer for too long and, if you can, don’t dry your hair completely but stop when the hair is a bit damp.Do you use a blow dryer or do you prefer to let your hair air dry….

Straightening your hair without the use of a heat protection spray and with your ghds on a high temperature can certainly damage your hair the most out of these 3 methods of styling hair. Saying that, hairspray can be just as bad if not worse. With hairspray you probably back-comb your hair to get the correct volume so you can fix the style with spray right? Well back-combing [or teasing as it is sometimes known] severely damages the cuticles causing hair to break off if this method is used on a regular basis you could be left with clumps of hair falling out!If you are straightening your hair be sure the ghds are ceramic plated for a smooth gentler on cuticles finish and on a low temperature. You can also use AngelFish serum after!Heat damages hair. Using a blow dryer or straightener on a high temperature setting leads to the breakdown of protein in the hair cuticles that protects the hair. Heat deprives the hair shaft of natural moisture needed for healthy locks.Perhaps substitute for air or towel drying instead?

people usually blow dry hair so they can get that teased look or to get a frizzled Hollywood look. Often it doesn’t work. it just dry s it out and requires a lot of moisturizer and conditioner to get it back
