Putting relaxer on permed hair?

Asked by: Blueberry Sprinkles 201 views Hair , , , , ,

So i asked this question once already but i only got one (really vague) response. So i permed my hair about 2 1/2 weeks ago and i hate it. i’ve been deep conditioning and taking really good care of it. I would like to use a relaxer to get it straight(er) than it is. I know its a horrible idea to put so many chemicals on my hair in such a short period of time, but i really cant stand the way it looks. And please don’t mention straightening my hair with heat because i used to do that all the time and it killed my hair even with protectant. So my question is, what is the shortest amount of time i should wait before relaxing my hair, after i’ve permed it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, please and thank you (:

Ehh I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you do have a professional do it. I had this ghetto lady relaxing my hair and she would leave it in too long and my hair started falling out. The second that stuff starts to burn, wash it out!! Don’t try to leave it in for a few more seconds…

A few years back my sister had permed her hair, then about two months later she decided to put a relaxer in her hair to straighten it out for her wedding. It burned up all her hair, her hair turned rubbery and split off in chunks. She ended up having to go into the salon and having it cut into a very short hair style. Even then, she still had portions of ruined hair left. I dont know exactly how long you should wait, but I can say that anything two months or sooner probably isnt a good idea.
