What are good hair treatments?!?

Asked by: Doris 232 views Hair , , , , ,

My hair is out of shape! :( It looks horrible most of the time and it is permed and I have to do something about it. I told my mom about this really good hair treatment called Brazil keratin. I watched a bunch of videos on youtube, and then showed my mom. She liked it and said she would get it for me, and maybe her self as well. But then I showed her a video about dangers behind the product. And it looks like is causes cancer. It is like $300.00. My friend got it and her hair is really nice now. She is the one who told me about it in the first place. Are there any other hair treatments that are good for the hair and won’t cause any damage to my health. Please help. I really need my hair done. I am tired of going to school with my hair looking crazy. I also wan’t it to grow a lot. Any suggestions.

I would personally recommend against it because of the formaldehyde contact; that’s the carcinogen (a.k.a. what causes cancer) in the product. It’s also dangerous to the stylist applying the product, to show that it’s not just skin contact that’s the problem. Being overexposed (which doesn’t take very much) can make your eyes, nose, and throat burn from the fumes alone. There’s a news story that’s easy to find about a woman that had this done and left the chemicals on her head too long; she now has liver cancer, among other problems. I’m not saying this is an absolute, but you should know what is possible before jumping into something promoted by snazzy commercials. :| Your hair looks great for about 6 weeks with this method (both blowout and keratin), and then needs it again. For similar results and less price, you could find a high quality flat iron (about $80-129) and some jojoba oil ($10 max at Trader Joe’s) and straighten your hair at home in a few minutes, and the jojoba would help with both dry hair and split ends. To be honest, jojoba oil saved my hair, big time, and the idea of being around formaldehyde products without all of my protective gear and scrubs on bothers me.

i don’t see how a hair product could make you get cancer, if you’re young then i’m sure it’s not that much of a danger anyway, maybe in very prolonged use. if you’re friend thinks it’s good then i think you should try it out!

It won’t give you cancer if you do it just once. Kind of like smoking… it will give you cancer if you do it profusely, but not just once or twice. You should do it.After that’s done, I suggest making a weekly egg hair mask.

It’s just $3 at walmart and comes with three uses. Do it once or maybe twice a month and I promise your hair will feel baby soft and smooth, silky and just amazing. It’s not cancerous or harmful in any way either and only $3 compared to a ridiculous $300. Parents love cheapness.
