    It’s an interesting part of evolution. Lips are "sexual signals" – at least that’s probably how they evolved. They’re "attractive" sexually – and red is the color of genitals engorged with blood (thus sexually receptive).You’ll notice when lips aren’t red enough, women will paint them to be a little more red.
